Clann Fitness is a premium health club located in the Pillo Hotel in Westmeath, offering members a high-end training environment design to support strength, conditioning, and functional fitness. With a growing demand for a more modern, performance-driven facility, the goal was to create a gym space that felt premium, professional and versatile, while delivering the durability required in a busy commercial setting.
 
Apollo Fitness was brought in to deliver a performance-led training setup, combining strength equipment, functional training zones and conditioning equipment, all within a cohesive layout that maximised flow and usability.

The brief focused on creating a space that looked and felt high-end, with a strong visual impact, clean zoning, and equipment capable of supporting a wide range of training styles.

THE GOAL BEHIND THE SPACE

The goal behind this space was to create a full commercial gym fit out within the space, designed to provide members with a premium training experience. The space needed to support everyday gym use, while also catering to strength-based training and functional fitness, with a layout that could handle high footfall and varied training styles. The main requirements for the space included dedicated free weights area, functional training capability, conditioning equipment, clear zoning to improve flow, capacity and experience, premium finishes and branded design features throughout.

THE TRAINING ZONE

The strength area is anchored by a series of Apollo half racks, providing a strong foundation for strength training and heavy lifting. The space is supported by a full selection of benches, plates, barbells and free weights, creating a complete strength training environment suitable for all member levels.

To support athletic and multi-functional training, the gym includes a dedicated functional zone equipped with kettlebells and medicine balls, plyometric equipment and performance accessories, designed to give members the ability to train beyond traditional gym programming.

A standout feature of the facility is the custom turf track, complete with Clann Fitness branding, creating a high-impact training area for sled work, sprint intervals and functional conditioning. The turf zone is supported with equipment such as a prowler, allowing for high-intensity conditioning sessions while reinforcing the facility's performance identity.

The gym also includes Concept2 rowers and SkiErgs, providing elite-level conditioning options and further expanding the range of training styles available within the space.

A dark premium colour palette, combined with feature lighting gives the gym a modern, high-end atmosphere. The lighting enhances the overall aesthetic while creating defined zones across the facility, giving the space a sharp and immersive feel.
